Our Company Timeline

Missouri Produce, formerly St. Louis Produce Delivery has enjoyed a long, fruitful legacy in St. Louis, Missouri. Stemming back from the 1900s, Grandpa Tony Catanzaro started our legacy when he first came to The United States of America. Our legacy can be found by hovering on the dates below.

1900

Began by Grandpa Tony Catanzaro from Italy (Catanzaro Fruit) by horse and wagon

1930

Catanzaro Fruit expanded to include vegetables with Tony’s youngest son, Phil Catanzaro delivering by truck.

1930 – 43

Catanzaro Produce continued to expand to mom and pop stores and Soulard Market on the weekends

1943 – 46

Tony Catanzaro ran local Catanzaro Produce while son, Phil, was away working on a Navy ship in WWII

1950’s

Phil Catanzaro’s youngest son, Phil, began working alongside his father to learn the business.

1966

St. Louis Produce was established by father and son, Phil B. Catanzaro and Phil D. Catanzaro, servicing chain grocery stores with the first prepackaged produce in the St. Louis area

1967 – 77

Tony Catanzaro and youngest son, Phil B. Catanzaro passed away leaving the business to grandson and son, Phil D. Catanzaro

1983

Due to illness, Phil D. Carazaro turned business over to his sister, Josie, while he battled cancer with chemotherapy treatments until he returned back to work.

2006

Phil D. Catanzaro, semi-retired, turned business over to grandson, Joshua Blassingame.

2015

Grandfather and grandson, still working side-by-side, expanding company to include home delivery service.
